Dear President Bush:
I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this.
I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here.
So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. All government forms need to be printed in English.
4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.
5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at
their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.
7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.
13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail hunting with your V.P.
Thank you so much for your kind help.
Sincerely,
XXX13

Nobody is asking you to change your language. Hispanics are willing to learn English. It is hard to learn English when you are busting your a** working to have a better life!! A lot of Hispanics learn English - some speak it and spell it much better than lots of Americans! I know I do!
The reason why they have stuff in Spanish is because it makes it easier to live here. YES! for all the people that are here legally, working their butts off, learning English little by little, paying taxes, and so on....
There are legal Hispanics in the US too - forgot about that or what?!

90% of the U.S. popiation wants illegals out, and I'm pretty sure that out of that 90%, all of them know english, and i'm also positive out of the 10 % that want the illegals to stay , that well over 50% ofthem know english also.
So 90% of the U.S. population would feel that the language should not be changed .

I don't like the idea of changing our language. I read about that the other day and can't believe that there are so many people who would rather change our language than have people learn English! It was upsetting to me.
I read that there are people trying to change the spelling of words to be written the way they sound and it was really stupid to me.

Im a bilingual Hispanic (speak and read both English and Spanish) So English is my main language here in the US (Spanish is spoken @ home) Hate to say it, but English should be spoken here. Im tired of translating, not getting paid for it.

We shouldn't, not just that we should boycott any business owned by a illegal immigrant, After the protest a few months ago, That cost american buisness a ton of money. I say if your here illegally, we need to adapt the laws of the country they came from, use their justice against them, Look what it takes to become a mexican citizen. It'll blow your mind.

Thank you, that's what I'm talking about! I went to the bank the other day, everything is in Spanish and underneath is the English version. I went to the market, I picked up a can of Libby corn, there was the English version and Spanish version. That is BS! This is AMERICA!!! I'm fed up with it all.

What changes? Is Congress debating a law requiring Spanish to be the national language? I must have missed that. Can't find anybody speaking English at school, or at the bank, or at work, or at the store? Is your newspaper in Spanish? How exactly is Our language changing, other than adding words like Taco, Enchilada, Salsa, etc??? Thanks, have un bien dia!

No way! I'm going to speak English for the rest of my life - I know some Spanish, but I refuse to use it (needed a humanity in college and didn't want to take philosophy, art, or religion). I'm reserving my Spanish for my future trip to Spain.
