All good answers so far! Those ideas will be much easier, but if you want to set it up yourself in Microsoft Word, do this:
1) Set layout for Landscape
2) Set all margins (top, bottom, left, right) to .5"
3) Type three lines of garbage. Just something for a visual
4) Choose "Select All" and then FORMAT, COLUMNS
5) Choose "3 columns" and make the margins between the column 1" (yes, that's right)
6) Back in your document, go to the beginng of the second line and insert a column break. Do the same with the beginning of the third line.
7) VOILA!

Purchase Avery format paper with the prefolded tri fold creases and then use their free templates to design it the way you would like it to be. You can also find some at Office Depot, just look on the back of the item to see if the other brands offer the same free templates as Avery.
It's fast and easy.
Good luck!

if this is a package deal(ie the kits from Wilton etc) they usually have a site that you can go to that will let you download templetes to get it formatted correctly. however, if it's not..try going into word and making a document thru that. you can set up 3 columns and have it printed that way. I made my own invitations from scratch and created a template in word. just make sure you practice on regular paper to get it right before trying on your program paper.

go to www.avery.com; download the avery wizard. When you start the wizard it will ask you what product you are using. Scroll thru and find the one that looks like what you want. Type in your information and click finish. You can still edit once you have finished the wizard. It's a breeze and you'll be so happy you found the wizard!
Good luck, don't fret and get 'r done!!! :)
ps: congratulations!!!!

I am doing my wedding invitations trifold. I took a piece of cardstock and old fashioned paper, glued them together(so it shows on the inside). I am doing the actual writing on the computer, then when I'm done I got a stamper and wax to seal it closed. My wedding theme is kind of old fashioned so it looks right.

If you have Microsoft publisher, go to brochure and then you can delete any formatting you don't care for. Just plug in your text and go.
If you only have word, go to format->columns and then choose 3 columns.
For any design aspects, add details and I will try to help you.
Good Luck!

Depending on the version of Word, there should be tri-fold brochure-type templates already installed.
If you don't have them, go to Microsoft.com - you should be able to find and download them from there.
