She should see a dentist - it could be decay under the surface, or an absess.

If she masks the pain without knowing the cause - it will make the problem bigger, more painful and expensive to deal with when it finally becomes too much.

You know what is the fastest way to help ease pain in your teeth. Eat strawberries. That will not cure the pain, but there is something in it that will help dull the pain. I'm serious about this. I am not sure what it is, but I learned it from my sister who is studying to be an RN. My fiance had a bad infection in his eat and it immediately cured the pain until we could get him to the dentist to get it removed. If you suck on the strawberry and keep it where the pain is, the pain relief usually lasts longer. If she keeps having the pain, the only thing that will help is to go to the dentist and either get a filling or the tooth removed. Hope that helped :)
