i have been fighting a case agianst an airbag injury....my airbag was malfunctioned and when it deployed it didnt open all the way...it went strat down to my legs cause 2nd and 3rd degree burns....i was just wondering if anyone had ever had there airbags go off on them ...and if they got burned by it at all....and by burns i mean abrassion burns....

i understand that they save ppls lives...but in my case if it would of never went off i would of walked out fine...and thats what i hear alot they save ppls lives but what about the ppl they injury

i never said there was anything wrong with airbags,,,,i know there not soft in fluffy....i guess you dont understand what im saying.how is a person to know when purchasing a vehicle that the airbags are working propperly....u dont know....and again i know they save lifes and thats great ...but when one goes off wrong and u get more hurt by it then protected ...theres something wrong with that ,,,,dont u think.....and it wasnt just simply burns i had to go to the doctos several times and go thourgh painful whirlpool treatments....couldnt walk for almost a week...had to be carried to the bathroom....couldnt
hold my 3 month old baby...and they worse part of it all was the pain...omg nothin would numb it.....it was just like i was burned by fire......

They air bag probably feels terrible. Have you talked to him about it? Maybe he was not feeling good that day. I sometimes find when air bags have a death in the family or they have the flu they will deploy on you. How old is this air bag? If he is a teenager he may have deployed as a means of rebelling on you. Is he into drugs? Can you smell weed when you start the car? One last question.....when he deployed on you; could you smell alcohol on his breath? Being an air bag is hard work and lots of them have drinking problems.

I like the answer chris gave, very funny dude! you got hurt from your airbag. well, lots of people do. Airbags aren't meant to be big fluffy cushions. They have to stop quite a force in a short amount of time, and like most things, an airbag may not deploy properly everytime! If you don't want this to happen again, buy a car that doesn't have airbags, or has a switch where u can turn it off.

I was involved in a accident November 25/01 and I was driving a Honda Civic, the airbags deployed and Ihad burns all over my face and chest, it wasn't pretty. The impact was a side impact and the bags did more harm then good in my situation, I wish they had not deployed at all! In fact, I got a nose bleed from the bag hitting me in the face so hard.

I'm a Fireman I have seen hundreds of them go off and some cause injury, but like a bullet proof vest you may be hurt but your still alive.
