Why is it that every time they see a question they can't answer, some Christians simply lash out with childish insults and insinuations? Wouldn't a reasonable person simply not post a response if they didn't have a pertinent answer?
As for the question: I wouldn't believe it. The Bible is a fairy tale.

If the bible said that pigs could fly, then I can assure you we would have flying pigs.
A snake, or serpent, was spoken of as being the reason Eve and Adam comitted the original sin.
You will also note that the serpent was then given the rest of it's life to crawling on the ground, and eating dust.
The bigger question is why do you feel the need to discredit anothers right to believe?
I do not wish you to believe something you choose not to, yet I also believe that those who wish to NOT believe should not feel the urge to force others into that mailstrom.
Live and let live, and do not let small questions, to which we may not have PERFECT answers, sway you from looking at the big picture.
Everyone has the right to believe as they will, and so long as they do not violate anothers rights, liberties, happinesses, or personal lives, then they have the right to believe as they wish.

Pigs can fly so it doesn't have to be stated in the Bible. Your point is well taken. Things which are quite clearly impossible are treated as true by the gullible. I met a Christian who told me that people are still raised from the dead today. This is one reason I am skeptical about the bible. I have no idea why, if God previously revealed himself in a burning bush, if previously miracles happened on a daily basis, why nothing like this ever happens now. There is nothing which suggests that God is revealing himself. Everything can be explained scientifically.

Why not? Christian fundamentalists believe that the earth is only 6000 years old which makes flying pigs look almost an every day event.

The Bible also claims that rabbits chew a cud and that the mustard seed is the smallest of things. Why don't Christianbs believe that too?

It also says that bats are birds and rabbits chew the cudd.
Funny, though I don't know a single christian who believes such a thing.
I guess that they believe that the bible contains errors.

Why not indeed.
After all, some evolutionists actually believe that life on earth emerged from a puddle of soup.
