A lot of atheists pose questions in this group as they do not have their own group. Religion and spirituality has nothing to do with atheism but the atheists have nowhere else to go so they come here. In order to help them, I propose we all ask Yahoo to open a group for them so they can discuss their issues unabatedly and without being irritated by people who believe in God :)
What do you think about this?

I kinda like having them around. Lets keep them here. You never know when something we say might be used by the Holy Spirit to save one of them...Jim

Religion and spirituality have everything to do with Atheism. And you know that, even if they did create a separate forum (which they won't) that there will still be people on both sides only trying to aggravate the others.

There are plenty of forums for atheists, most of which are open to anyone. We neither ask nor require anything of anyone else to be validated as atheists. Most of the responses from theists here are noticably condescending, which does more to expose the limits of their faith than demonstrate genuine compassion. My sympathy lies more with them than atheists supposedly in search of a "home". We're doing just fine, thanks.

i dunno- what would they talk about? how much they hate god? I dont think they would ever use the group cause they actually want answers from non-athiests. When you post a question- most of the time you are looking for other viewpoints, but if there was a group just for athiests, then they would all have the same viewpoint and they would all come back the Religion&Spirituality.

Oh wow, a unique idea! A bolt from the blue, as it were.

Why didn't anyone else think of that?

Oops, sarcasm. Someone just yelled at us all for that. Sorry!

Yeah, and there are science forums, but no ANTI-science forums for the moronic fundamentalists.

what gives?

PS: "Religion and spirituality has nothing to do with atheism"
Yup, that's the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

You could always go to church and isolate yourself in a utopia, OR you could start a Christian chat room on line....Just some solutions.

I am trying to be nice, but the truth is, your viewpoint is like Hitler's....You want to isolate others who oppose your views.

oh, i know. athiests feel their human rights are so f-ing trampled on. i still want my d*mn CHRISTMAS tree back. i was happy celebrating christmas. and now, when i go to the store and look for christmas decorations, i can't find any. oh, there are plenty of Hannukah decorations and Kwanzaa decorations and HOLIDAY decorations...like holiday stockings and holiday garland. i can buy a tin of holiday cookies and wish people "happy holidays" on christmas cards-like they do on t.v. along with "happy hannukah" and "happy kwanzaa". and since i'm not jewish or african, i guess i'll have to settle for celebrating HOLIDAY because some religiously devoid people decided they were offended by my d*mn nativity set-up on the lawn!!!!!!!!!
