If there is any, how do you tell when you are drinking too much water? Or do you just drink the recommended 8 glasses per day?

Yes. It's called water intoxication, water poisoning, or hyperhydration. Water itself is not toxic to the body in any amount, but the electrolytes in your body fluids have to be held within very narrow limits. If you drink water faster than you can get rid of it, you dilute your body fluids too much and your electrolyte balance can shift dangerously. A Chi Tau fraternity pledge died as a result of heart failure due to water intoxication in 2005.

No, just constantly have to urinate throughout the day. I drink more than the 8 glasses recommended and the only problem I have encountered is drinking too much and have not eaten which may cause cramps.

Yes, I learned this when I got my new water cooler. It is very hard to do but you can dilute the natural salt in your body by drinking too much water and get very sick. I don't know the website you can find this on but look it up on google. "can a person drink too much water" and some sites will pop up

Besides aforementioned trips to the potty, no, unless you're drinking because you're always thirsty. That can be a sign of other problems and worth chatting with a doctor about (inc. diabetes).

You can remove too much salt from your system and actually die. most will faint before that happens but if you drink like three gallons, its enough to kill you.

Yep, there is. You may cause an imbalance in your electrolytes. That could effect your heartbeat. :) James, LVN
