I believe the word is trust. Due to extenuating circumstances there could be reasons for holding back on both parts. The first step to mend this would be to have a discussion about what has or has not happened, why and where to go from there. It would set the trend to accept one another as trustful partners as a start to what could be an eventful trip to Xanadu........

Everyone is always talking about "unconditional" love nowadays. I wonder if such a thing really exists.
Would you continue to love someone who used and abused you? If not, isn't their obligation not to use and abuse a condition of your love? Would you continue to love someone if you discovered that they were not who they led you to believe they were (different person with different values and priorities)? If not, then isn't the expectation that they are being honest with you a condition of your love?
I don't think unconditional love is even something to be desired. We all need to behave within certain acceptable parameters and should not feel we are deserving of love merely because of our existence when we refuse to respect those parameters.
