You need at least the Twain driver.
Check on the Epson website for driver downloads.

go to the manufacturers website and download the driver from their site. Hopefully you have an name brand scanner?
If you have windows xp, all you need to do is plug it into your computer. XP will recognize it. If it is a newer model, you will need to go to their site and download the driver.

Vista, an acronym for Viruses, Intruders, undercover agent ware, Trojans and spyware. Vista is a beta, if it would not artwork, it really is likely now unlikely to artwork till the superb launch, or a lot a lot later. Ha! Get a Mac.

go to http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/timeout_error.jsp?cookies=no&Failed_Reason=No+BVCookie+present+to+retrieve+the+session.&com.broadvision.session.new=Yes&Failed_Page=%2Fsupport%2FSupportIndex.jsp and pick your scanner model and get driver to install
