that's what happened to my mom. And yes it finally kicked her in the butt to realize that she had a problem and she was finally able to get it under control. Things have definetly worked out for the better. It's been like 14 years and she has the occasional drink but it has never gotten out of hand like it did before.

No,because AA is a religious cult, the position regularly individuals are mistreated. mandating human beings to AA, is coercion and a contravention of the separation of Church and State. the different problem is that one in all AA's concepts is Anonymity, and AA violates its own idea through reporting attendance innovations.i imagine you're very courageous through asking this question because you're growing to be information designed to launch human beings and promises them decision. Many AA/NA communities also limit individuals from taking psychotropic drugs, at the same time as prescribed through a health practitioner. it really is rather merciless and unsafe. even with the undeniable fact that secular options do exist they're as follows The Secular company for Sobriety (SOS of which i'm a Board Member), Rational fix, it quite is depending on the Cognitive Behavioral medical care designed through Albert Ellis, women persons for Sobriety, and existence Ring Secular fix. Courts might want to refer human beings to those organizations, yet because of bias they don't. besides AA has managed to spread through the rustic which helps attendance

if you were court-ordered to attend then i would have to think that alcohol is some sort of problem or else you wouldnt have been in court regarding it. alcoholism is a much bigger problem than most people realize. if you ever drink more than a couple of drinks then you are doing more than just getting "loose" or relaxing. now if you are someone between 20 and 25 you probably have a problem that you will grow out of. but it is still a problem.

I wasn't court ordered, but my problem got worse in AA.

"There is also experimental evidence that the A.A. doctrine of powerlessness leads to binge drinking. In a sophisticated controlled study of A.A.'s effectiveness (Brandsma et. al.), court-mandated offenders who had been sent to Alcoholics Anonymous for several months were engaging in FIVE TIMES as much binge drinking as another group of alcoholics who got no treatment at all, and the A.A. group was doing NINE TIMES as much binge drinking as another group of alcoholics who got rational behavior therapy."

Are you talking about the type of meeting where if you say you don't have a problem, then you are in denial, and if you say you do, you are an alcoholic?

Do they think anyone in this world is not an alcoholic?
