i'm not sure if this is a masonic secret, but if it isn't i'd like to know what the skull, crossbones and coffin stands for in masonic symbology. Here are a few examples: http://chunma.yu.ac.kr/~m0015182/etc/images/freemason_8.jpg

It seems kind of spooky. if any masons online here have permission to talk about this, it would be interesting to know what this is about.

The skull, crossbones and coffin are all symbols of mortality.

A small explanation from one who is sometimes called an "irregular" or "fringe" Freemason because our Order admits women as well as men.

Freemasonry has supplied something sorely lacking in today's society: a rite of passage into adulthood. Look around you and what do you see? Boy/men who live for their XBox, get women pregnant and do not marry them nor have much to do with the children they have sired, politicians that laugh about the news they get from wars, drug-taking talk-show hosts, and hate-spewing drunken drivers. These are the marks of boys who have not grown up. Dogs, they say, are wolves that never have grown up. So is it with some of our humans.

What can make boys grow into men? The thing that did it for some of us was facing our own mortality in war. The realization that we could and possibly would soon die made all the difference to us. I guarantee that the US Army did not want us Vietnam veterans who had only a short time left to serve to be stationed in Germany or stateside. Better to give us an early discharge. We had faced our deaths and were not likely to put up with BS from fresh-faced lieutenants.

In Freemasonry we are reminded by these symbols that there will come a time when we will no longer be able to work. There will be a time when no matter how strong or ingenious we have been, we will die. We are urged to do our best while we can. This imparts a seriousness to all our labors. In a very real way, it serves as a venue to make of us adults.

Maybe it does not have that much meaning for all Freemasons. As I said, I am of an esoteric Order. I too think the Lomax and Knight books are very well written. BTW, at least one of them comes from Co-Masonic stock.

If I can be of any help, please feel free to write. Likewise click on the link below for more info. And any Master Mason here probably can give you more information.

I recomend the Hiram Key - it is a wonderful insight into the Masons written by two masons.

The skull & crossbones are part of of an initiation ritual & this ritual sybolizes a rebirth into the Masons - for complete details of the ritual - read the book above.

I think the masons are really just a group of guys (no women allowed) who want a reason to feel imprtant - masons have been directly linked to the knights templar & i have documentation & proof from the Grand Lodge in Nashville TN. This documentation is a photo album from the 1800's that is custom created for the lodge & bears the Knight Templar Crest as well as includes photographs of templars of the time in traditional garb.

The knights templar were the basic equivalent of the spanish inquisition - in other words - the killers of the church - it was their job to destroy blasphemers.

Masons are also a canning jar & can readily be used in the canning process.

Seriously - read the hiram key - it will give you the insight you seek because a mason is sworn to sercecy & is bound to never release information.

Your examples are the seal of the Grand Lodge of Texas and the George Washington's Apron. In both cases the emblems of mortality are used to remind us that we are all mortal and must one day leave this earthly home.

The symbols today are used by the Knights Templar and the Scottish Rite to teach mortality. Those Masons who only belong to the Blue Lodge are probably not acquainted with these symbols.

Both images are a representation of the masonic temple, the columns are more important than the skull, bones or coffin.

It has nothing to do with spooks, magic or horror stories, each thing stands as a symbol of everyday things found in life, and as a reminder of how to go through life.

In the early days, the freemason society acted as a sort of "insurance agent" for funeral arrangements. Your dues were, in essence, a way to ensure that you'd have a coffin and a plot of land when you died.
Some people went so far as to donate thier skull and or bones to the society so that they'd always be close to the group they loved. One such chest was found recently. The hysteria around it was funny until someone pointed out that's what it was.
Mortality and the short time we have on earth, is a key element in masonic society (or was, modern masons are a pretty lazy bunch ...)

Read the Noahide laws and they study from the talmud and yes they have been in America for guess how long? Since whites first came here.
The washington monument is a tower to ISIS
read up on bohemian grove and other stuff.
any seceret knowledge is forbidden by Jesus and the apostles it is of the old ancient world and will lead you to death and living here in bondage to Satan.
They passed Noahide laws in 1991 that says if you are gay, they will cut your head off. Death camps, box cars, feds swearing on the masonic bible, the rise of the sandrehein, they are the ones practicing wizardry and black magic and were follower of Simon Bar Koba, and Hiram who are all of the order.
By the way, non jews will become slaves according to this law.

Pythagorean got it.

And about the secrecy: Grand Lodges vary a bit on this, but the ONLY truly secret things are the signs of recognition (signs, grips, and passwords)
