They want us to live by their rules to placate their religious sensibilities.

The rules you speak of are not our rules, they are simply THE rules.
The questions you need to ask yourself (because I know athiests and agnostics are always asking questions...personal experience talking) are:
1) Have you ever stolen anything?
2) Have you ever lied about anything?
3) Have you ever thought about anyone else in a lustful manner?
If you deny any of these questions and says no to any of them...well that is something you need to deal with in time. But if you say yes to any of them, or even all three...then you have already admited you are a thieving liar that has committed adultery. (because it is stated in THE rules, that a person who thinks of another in a lustful manner committs adultery in thier minds; which still goes against the rule of "Thou shalt not commit adultery.")
The best thing you can do for yourself to answer your own question, size yourself up against the ten commandments and be honest...dead honest with yourself. The rules laid out are not ours, Christians did not make them up. They have been around since before Christ ever was born. There is something to think about.

But are you not trying to do the same thing by demeaning our faith, insulting us, etc?
In the marketplace of ideas, we are supposed to present arguments, relay facts, and make positions. It is true in politics and it is true in religion as well. Christians believe that Christ is the Messiah that the Jews were waiting for. Confucism believes in the inherent goodness of people. Islam believes peace comes only from submission to God. So on and so forth. You have your beliefs. Share them. Why do you believe what you believe?

Psalm 14:1: The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." I don't expect you to live by MY rules and if you think it's OK not to believe in God, I'm not the one you need to convince. You will someday be able to explain yourself to God. I will be praying that sometime before it is too late your heart and mind will understand.

I care less what rule you live by, that is YOUR choice, but don't thrash ALL believer's of God, I don't ask you to live by any rule, God did. You live your life your way, and I will live mine the way I choose.
But I will still pray for you. God Bless you.

It's called majority rules. There are more Christians in this country than all you just named.
But look on the bright side! Can't you apply for Affirmative action since you're a minority! :D

They're not my rules, they're God's. It isn't a myth, I've got historical facts to back me up. I can't shape your life, only you and God can do that, all I can do is try to help you understand why following God is better for you.

What are you talking about? Who is trying to shape your life? These forums are for people asking and answering questions.
No need to speak so rudely. Live as you please. But if you ask questions about Christianity, or the bible, you will get answers from scripture. No one says you have to abide by them. That is for you to choose.
Calm down!

I specifically don't expect you to live by any rules. If you want to go to hell, that is your choice. All we can do as Christians, is to spread the word so your blood won't be on our heads, but if you ignore it, then it is on you.

Me thinks your anger is misdirected.
You've got a real issue if this faceless peanut gallery can get you so mad.
Go off on the person or persons in your actual life who are agitating you so much. See if that helps.
