YES! I have a daughter who will be 11 soon. We fight all the time. I am at my witts end. She is such a drama queen, anything I ask her to do because a major ordeal. She says that I am totally unfair and that I love my son more. I don't love him more, but he doesn't have this attitude. So we don't fight. ... It must be the age, because I work with a gent that is having the same issues with his 10 yr old. ,,,, I don't know the answer, but you are not alone in your battle if that helps any.

Looking for a solution, too.

Oh yeah...I have the same problem alright....only I'm the daughter, not the mother. In a sense, attitude-I find-is a teenager's only weapon in a fight. If you noticed, your daughter is 11, hormones are raging and everything. Whatever you bug her about, she may just lash out. Try to get through to herand tell that you love her. Don't yell just talk calmly. If you think it is way more complicated than that, then I would suggest a counselor.

The worst thing you can say to her is that she has an attitude problem, Ask her what you can do for her and be patiant with her, be understanding towards her, give your full attention and listen to what she has to say. find out what's bugging her and offer kind and helpfull advise. Above all else don't get mad and start shouting at her because you'll be at square one again and she'll push her further away. Hope this helps you good luck.

Try setting aside one day of the week that is just hers and you two just spend time together. I bet whatever is causing her bad attitude will come out. Also, maybe she needs to get involved in some sort of youth group or girl group. Sometimes it helps when you have someone to mentor you who is a peer.

Don't worry it will get worse. thirteen is the age where it is always her fault. fourteen it is her mates are allowed out later. fifteen you don't like any of her boyfriends. between there and sixteen you are always making her do her school work and you don't understand.
then there is the sixteen to eighteen, you cant tell her what to do! you have got it all to come and even when you are my age you have the grand children to worry about.
you will be in trouble then, she will tell you are interfering when you make the merest suggestion about your grand children or you are spoiling them.
You have children and you never win.
Best of luck "Daddy Dave"

that's just the way an 11 year old girl is. Just wait, it lasts until she's at least 19.

you just said "i love her BUT..."no wonder she feels like u don't like her... you need to convince her u love her no matter what!! and eventually she will start to trust you and confide in you cuz it sounds like she can't at the minute so you'll never find out whats giving her the attitude problem
