there is nothing wrong w/ wanting or checking your registry daily. I checked mine maybe about once a week. it was neat to see the items being purchased. however if you like the element of surprise, then i was suggest not checking the registry at all. hopefully you will have better luck, I still had to exchange many multiples from my registry, but that was from the check out error and the items not getting scanned in, but that just meant shopping :) Congrats!!

My friend is getting married in October, and I am throwing the shower mid-next month.
She tells me she checks the registry almost everyday.
It's a total temptation, and I don't think it hurts. You don't know who bought what.
And, checking it does give you a heads up if you should add something else to the registry, since like you said, things get discontinued or are unavailable.

I just got married in July. We registered in Feb or so. Then, I checked the registry weekly. As the shower got closer i checked daily. Then as the wedding got closer, I checked every few hours!
There's nothing wrong. It also allows you to update your registry and add to it if you need to!
Congrats!

I'm trying to resist the temptation to check the registry. Partly because I want to be surprised, partly because I don't want to stress about it.
It's not about the gifts, anyway - it's about the chance to see my friends and family! I think we'd be just as happy if no one brought anything except themselves, especially considering that most folks are coming from out of state to attend. Especially with gas and airfare costs nowadays.

Eh, it takes away some of the surprise, but a friend of mine who got married last fall checked her constantly and nothing bad came of it.

I don't think it is bad. I did the same thing but just so i could plan ahead on what I would have to buy after our wedding.

Honestly I do it all the time....I mean like everyday! It's not like we know who is buying the stuff, just that it has been purchased. I'm always trying to figure out who bought it though :)

No... I think its fine. No one will know, its not hurting anyone, and it can actually help you. You can add and delete things as needed... for example, you see that you already got four sets of sheets, and no glasses, you delete the other two sets of sheets you registered for and add a set of glasses....

haha we just registered this weekend and the woman helping us told me her daughter was the same way. she ended up turning it into a game and trying to match the item bought with who might have bought it! i have a feeling i'll be the same way!
