It isn't a sacrifice unless it's intended to be a sacrifice. So yes, if he really did that, then it would be suicide by cop.

If you had true bible knowledge you'd know that he did NOT commit suicide. When the bible states he gave his life, it means he willingly let the jewish people convict him and kill him. The reason he gave his life was to be an equal trade. Since we inherited sin from Adam, a perfect man, we needed a perfect man to undo this, Jesus. Apples are not the same as oranges. So, we needed a perfect man.
By the way, Matthew 26: 50-56 says: "But Jesus said to him: “Fellow, for what purpose are you present?” Then they came forward and laid hands on Jesus and took him into custody. But, look! one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword and struck the slave of the high priest and took off his ear. Then Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father to supply me at this moment more than twelve legions of angels? In that case, how would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must take place this way?"
If Jesus wanted, he could've asked for a legion of angels to rescue him. But then, how would the prophecy be fulfilled?

Christ's sacrifice was foretold by many prophets and events long before He was alive. when Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son, this was a prophecy of Christ. the Jews sacrificed lambs every week for 3000 years and were supposed to accept Christ as the ultimate "Sacrificial Lamb." so His destiny or duty (for our benefit alone) was pre-determined for a long time. however, being a mortal man even Christ asked 3 times in the garden during prayer if God was sure He had to go through with this. and dieing on the cross He felt His Father had abandoned Him. these are not the traits of SUICIDE. Christ was devoted to the Lord so much as to follow His instructions to the very end. Christ was the sacrifice but the sacrifice was made by God, just as Abraham was about to sacrifice his son. and to "give up the ghost" means that the spirit has left the body. we cannot just give up our ghosts without the body dieing first. so there is nothing about suicide remotely in the picture.
+++Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, grant us Your mercy, for we are sinners.

It means that he loved man so much that he gave his life so that we might live. Would it be suicide for you too see someone about to be run over by a train to shove that person out of the way so that he might live in sacrificing your life for his? Would that be suicide or would that be loving the other person more then your own life?

No, it does not mean He committed suicide. If you recall the section in St Matthew, when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He was praying, 'let this cup pass away from me'. He was sweating blood! He didn't want to drink from that cup, offered by the ministering angel! But, because God gave us free will, even Christ had to WILLINGLY lay down His life, as a sacrifice for mankind's sins. 'Not my will, but Thine...'
Suicide is a result of despair, and is punished (theologically speaking) for that reason. For example, Judas Iscariot did commit suicide, and for the reason that he despaired of being forgiven by God for his treason. For that reason, he was condemned to damnation.

There is a difference between allowing someone to kill you and killing yourself. Jesus was the ultimate and only sacrifice acceptable to GOD for our sins. When people in the old testiment made sacrifices for their sins it was usually a lamb that was found to be perfect in everyway. This time a sacrifice was needed for the entire world and no animal would do. Jesus was the only one completly perfect and without sins. But to die, first you have to be born and that's what He did.

No, he "suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, and on the third day He arose and ascended into Heaven." He was a SACRIFICE for humans such as you are, not a SUICIDE! Read the Bible. It will explain it all to you.

Suicide by Proxy. Yes. After all, he supposdly had the power to escape, but didn't. He suppsedly had the power to avoid the whole mess. He went into it head first. It's suicide however you look at it.

If a man held u and a loved 1 at gunpoint,
and said either your loved 1 dies, or u die,
which 1 would u choose?
Jesus Died 4 us because he loves us. Not because he was suicidal.

True. If he could really do all those miracles that were attributed to him, then saving his own life should have been a piece of cake. If you can save yourself with a minimum of effort, but let yourself die instead, that's suicide in my book. Even if someone else put you in the situation.

If you push someone out of the way of a speeding car and get hit instead of the person you saved...is it suicide? Or is it making a sacrifice for somebody else?
