Dear Ciaran Foley: Jesus does not look upon human behaviors, on an individual basis. The Father does not judge His Children ; therefore, Jesus judges not, either.
Jesus is concerned with the overall thinking processes that we have as individuals. The misperceptions, the errors in our actions, as a whole.
When He is invited to enter into your life - and He never will enter until He IS invited - He begins instruction, explaining, guiding, directing your feet on your path - and a process takes place from His Presence in your life that begins changing how you THINK. It brings to a higher level of thought - our personalities. When Jesus is finished with His work within us - our thinking is "higher" and free of most errors. This is the automatic outcome of His Presence.
Did Granny tell you a"sexual" test drive? Or just "test drives" -meaning find out what she thinks and feels about all important issues that arise in a relationship.
I don't think Jesus would waste His energy on an issue such as THIS. He would want to get into that level of your Mind - where you decide all issues of your life. He corrects at the level of Mind - not the level of actions. He is not a policeman.

Hey man, You're Granny sounds pretty cool. Since she has a direct line to God, she can confirm that this is just how Jesus rolls.
You wouldn't buy an Hummer without testing the shocks a little, neither would J-Dog.
Remember, smack it on the back when you're done.
Two in the pink, one in the stink. Go ugly early.
Oh, and don't test drive without a love glove.

Go with what you feel is right. I think that its cool that your granny is up with the times. It really just a question of being responsible.
I don't believe in being scared into making a decision about my own life.
Not sure what Jesus would say but I'm almost sure "Jesus" would say si.

No, that isn't a good thing to do, bc it's basing the relationship and marriage on sex, which isn't enough to carry a relationship. You need to get to know the person by spending time with them and talking with them. If you find yourself falling in love with them, wanting to be with them all the time, pray about marrying them and get a pastor and other good Christians to pray about it, too. If God doesn't want you to do it, you shouldn't. If God says you should and the ppl you confided in agree, then marry her.
After you have a relationship with her, and you know her and enjoy being around her just for her company and being able to talk and relate to her, and you're married, God doesn't care if you have sex every night. But you need the marriage to be based on a relationship, not sex. Sex won't last, you get older, an injury may occur, desire can wane, but a relationship will last.

For some bizzare reason, God is supposedly deeply interested in our sexual behavior. I don't see why he would care but...
My take on it: Anything you want to do well in takes practice. Yet in Christian culture, people are expected to get love right the first time out. This is nonsense.
On the other hand...it's not a good idea to go sleeping around with people just for practice. Then it becomes an excuse. Date widely and search around, preferably among folk who share your interests. You'll do better then.

What does she mean by taking the woman for a few test drives?
I mean if she means it the way I intially took it...I would say no Jesus is not down with it. Pre-marital sex is just not in Jesus's book as an edifiable act or behavior.
Now if she meant to take her for a test drive in the fact of a few dates, get to know her a bit...yadda yadda...yes then I would say He would be down with it.

Probably not. The issue of fidelity & premarital sex was very important in Jesus' time. If a woman were found to be pregnant and not married then she could be legally stoned to death. (Men were rarely punished as there was no means to prove who was the father.) It was considered to be a very bad thing back then and Jesus seemed to be somewhat traditional regarding religious issues.

No it's not okay. GOD created sex and Jesus taught that sex is meant for people who are married as a way to express their love for one another and to reproduce. Just think. God loves us so much. Out of all that love between a man and woman eventually comes life.

Sexual intercourse between a man and woman; the Bible calls marriage. To have sexual relationship prior to the wedding vows; is considered not right by modern standards of dogma. Although the Bible says: when a man and woman lay together as one; they really are. Therefore, having sex before the wedding is considered jumping the gun.

Your really supposed to wait until you are married that is both partners, but our soceity is so far from god right now that this is not practiced much anymore. As a foot note a bride that marrys in white that is not a virgin is a huge liar.
