Dress in layers. Bring a few t-shirts and a long sleeve thermal shirt. A warm sweatshirt or a fleece jacket is probably a good idea. Comfortable jeans. Loose enough to put thermal underwear on underneath if need be. Warm socks, wool is best. A pair of athletic shoes and boots. Might want to consider flip flops depending on showers. Hat and gloves a possibility. Overall you should be comfortable and able to take off layers if you get too warm. Have a good trip!

It would be good to wear some shorts, insect repellent, a light jacket for the evenings, a couple of jeans, and three t-shirts.
Don´t take any pajamas, you will probably end up sleeping in your underwear. Good luck!

Actually, it is unlikely to be that cold during your trip. In that area of Michigan, during the month of September, the average high is 73 and the average low is 50 (in the middle of the night).
