About five minuted down the road from me a store of patrons 18 and over selling items expressly for adults is opening. It is not an eyesore, it is very upscale looking and blends into the mall district without sticking out (it is a former furniture store so it is a large store). Would this bother you and would you protest it's opening?

Personally, I wouldn't protest, I would be more likely to patronize it. Between a man and woman deeply in love, there is nothing wrong with sex or sexual related things. I fully beleive that more couples need to experiment in the bedroom. Sex, in and of itself, is dirty. Embrace it. If you are doing the same thing night after night, it's not sex. It becomes routine. I honestly think if more people let loose a little bit, there would be a much smaller rate of divorce, and couples that are already happy would be much more happy. Not to mention, when children feel that their parents have a healthy sex life, they are ultimately happier.

i would say no for two reasons. 1. if it blends in and done tastefully(if thats possible..lol) then it should be treated as any other business. these places do exist, and i think most "normal" people have entered a place like this at some point in time or another. 2. making a big stink over these places generally accomplishes nothing except free publicity for said business.

Hey all you protesters, the neighborhood went downhill the day that you moved in.

By the way what exactly are you protesting about, it is a store. you don't have to use it?

And David, the perverts will be in the neighborhood anyway with or without the store. Just because you don't know your neighbor is a pervert or doesn't show on any list, just means he hasn't been caught yet. At least with the store they probably wont be looking at your daughters.

Nope, I wouldn't as long as the building blended in with the rest of the shops it wouldn't bother me a bit. If it were huge and tacky, I might not like it merely for the fact that it would look trashy.

No, because I live in an area where that sort of stuff has happened. All it is for the store is free publicity. I wouldn't really want my picture on the news associated with that sort of store.

As long as they don't violate the city ordinances concerning porn .

You can protest all you like but unless they have broken the law, nothings going to come of it ....however; the business can call the police and have you removed from their premises if you are distrubing their customers or preventing people from entering the store or etc

I sure would. I have 2 kids , paid money for my house and this would make the property value go down not to mention drawing people to the area who are coming just for sexual reasons - not a good place for the kids.

Yes, I chose my neighborhood for the family culture there. If one porn store opened, I think more sex oriented businesses would follow. I have no problem with the store being located where those types of businesses already exist. I didn't choose to live there.

Ehh. I might dislike the idea, but they have ever right to be there, and really, it is the parents responsibility to keep the kids out of potentially harmful places, so I don't think I would protest. I imagine it would bother me to find out that kids were allowed to enter or buy stuff there.

It would bother me, but I would protest in the form of letters to the editor and such. I'm not into marching with signs, if that's what you mean.
