Of course you can! You can do both at the same time, actually. Now, if you want to become a lawyer, it will require a lot of school time, discipline, and study. But it seems like you have a willing spirit, and that's wonderful!

To be a writer, you don't necessarily have to have a certain specific amount of education, nor a college degree- although it may help.

Once you graduate from high school in a couple of years, I would encourage you to go to college, and major in either Journalism (writing) or perhaps you could attend law school.

I am not a lawyer, but I am a paralegal student. A paralegal is an assistant to a lawyer. I really am enjoying the law field, because it is very interesting. It can be challenging at times, but that can make it kind of fun, as well.

What you might want to do is become an attorney (a lawyer), and still write in your spare time. There are many lawyers who do this- my teacher is one example. He is a professor, a writer, and a certified attorney. And there are also famous attorneys who write very compelling books, like Gerry Spence. He is an accomplished attorney, and he has also written a book called "How to argue and win every time." It's a very brilliant book!

You can study - in other words major in- either 1. Criminal Justice or 2. Political science, with the aim being a career in law. You could teach, or get into litigation (law suit and court action) with either of those degrees. Those two degrees are both B.S. degrees- that is, four year degrees.

I wish you luck, my friend! : )

Don't let anyones negative or pessimistic attitudes because they will take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away. Think positive and you can do anything you desire. if you fall down 10 times, stand up 11.
