I know I shouldn't ask health questions but I was just curious --

I think I may have acid reflux and I noticed that one of the symptoms is regurgitation. I am also on the birth control pill so do you think that if the contents of my stomach were to come up, the pill would too and become less effective?

And when I mean the contents of my stomach come up, I mean it just comes up to my throat but I don't throw up.

Thanks!!

I think you're good with the pill but would follow up with your doctor just in case. If you do have acid reflux -- Rolaids really don't work -- you need a good prescription. If you can't afford it, go to Sam's Club or Costco for really cheap drugs!

I have the same exact problem. Acid reflux is NOT fun! I'm on the pill too & I've been told that when it comes to throwing up then you are fine as long as it's been dissolved already. Apparently if you throw up or whatever within 1 - 2 hours of taking it then it hasn't had time to dissolve completely...I think it's more with an hour though since the pills are so small. (If you happen to get sick not too long after taking a pill then use a condom or something if you have sex that night & take your pill the next day as you normally would.) As far as the regurgitation, if it doesn't come OUT then you're fine...gravity takes its toll & everything settles back into your stomach eventually. I keep rolaids of all sorts on me to help with my acid reflux but it doesn't always help so I'm going to be making an appointment with a doctor soon.......and I suggest you do the same! It can cause damage to the esophagus if left alone & untreated. Good luck!

You should ask your doctor that and then come back and tell us because now you have us curious. I dream when I over eat (I no longer have acid reflux) so it seems reasonable to think that way.

you should talk to your doctor about your symptoms. As far as the BC pill thing, your not actually throwing up the pill and you need to look at the time you took the pill to the time you are regurgitating, has the pill already been absorbed by your body.

no, as long as you don't vomit, the pill will be disolved by your stomach. try tums or rolaids. for the stomach acid.
