You're dead right, you've done nothing wrong at all; you like who you like and that's cool, never forget that. Disregard those abusers, they are ignorant people and not even worth paying attention to. If you search your local web sites for example local city council site there should be something in there regarding gay meetings etc...
If there is nothing in your area, why not be the first to set something up.. you will also meet friends by doing this...
