Well as I was signing up my daughter for Bishop ____ Catholic High School, the woman next to me and I began chatting. She mentioned she was a vice-principal of one of the county's Blue Ribbon high schools. (I didn't live in the county, so my kids couldn't go to that Blue Ribbon HS) I asked her why she was paying to send her son when he could attend a Blue Ribbon HS for free. Her answer: "my high school where I am vice-principal is excellent; however, Bishop ___ school is outstanding."

People send their children to private schools because they believe that they will get an better education than at a public school. They have more activities and smaller class sizes. You are making an investment in the future.

Depends on the school. Some parents would prefer their children to have a religious education as well if they go to a Catholic school. Sometimes, it's tradition. Sometimes, parents think it's still a better school.

because in a private school you feel more comfortable about what your child is exposed too. But I prefer a public school because children will be children and it is a whole lot cheaper

because of the fact they are no longer "in basic terms as good an education". Public faculties, even ones in great factors and rated particularly, nonetheless carry out lots below Parochial/inner maximum college on standardized tests and usual grades.

They might think that all public schools are bad and private schools have better teachers. Actually, it's exactly the opposite.

Family tradition? Snob appeal? That is where the child prefers to go? Closer proximity to the home?
