Calvinists that adhere to the five points of TULIP do not believe in free will.

The major difference is in salvation. Calvinists believe it is all by grace and the work of God, man has nothing to do with it, and could not do anything to secure salvation, nor deny salvation. Arminianists believe that man has the free will to accept or reject salvation, and therefore, has a hand in salvation. It is something I am still working through myself, having been a hardcore Calvinist, I am now softening a bit as I listen to more lectures concerning this issue.

Arminians believe that Man has the capability of freely choosing God or Hell, and Calvinists believe that Man freely chooses Hell if not for God. Calvinists desire to give all the glory to God in salvation, not trusting Man in the least to be able to make a rational choice for God, given his sinful condition. I'm sure you can tell by now I'm of the latter persuasion.

These are the biggest differences between Judaism and Xianity: Jews believe that one person cannot die for the sins of another person. Jews believe that we do not need a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Jews believe that Jesus was not the messiah. Jews believe that God hates human sacrifices. Who died on the cross? Was it Jesus-the-god, or was it Jesus-the-human? If it was Jesus-the-god, Jews don't believe that God can die. If it was Jesus-the-human, then all Christians have in the death of Jesus was a human death, a human sacrifice. Jews believe that God hates the very idea of human sacrifice. Jews believe that one is born into the world with original purity, and not with original sin. Jews do not believe in original sin. Jews believe that God is one and indivisible. Jews do not believe in a trinity. Jews believe in The Satan, but not in a devil. There is a difference between The Satan and the devil. Jews believe that God is God, and humans are humans. God does not become human nor do humans become God.

Only those who come to God in TheWay He proscribes will ever know the truth of God's Word and Will...do not bother with any of those old dead guy's opinions... Follow the one who is alive and accept the leading of His Holy Spirit... If you will open yourself to the leading of The Holy Spirit you will find in God's Word what God has for you...not what some old dead guy said he thought was there.
