Alot of people had told me that if you have sex you could go into labor because of a horbmone in the semen. Anyway, I did and right afterwards I started getting contractions but they were at different times. Never consistent. Anyway I was already 39 weeks and the following day I had my check-up at the clinic. When I got there everything was fine I was sitting there bare-bottomed waiting for the DR to go in when all of a sudden my water broke right there on the table. It was really embarrassing but a few hours later I had my beautiful baby girl. Tell me your story!

I had 31 hrs worth. I started contracting Saturday night at 9 pm. I was at home alone, my boyfriend was at work( i wasn't due for another week), so I called my mom and told her I was going to drive the 3 mins. to her house. I layed on the couch and about 1 that morning they were 5-6 min apart.. Mom took me to the hospital. i was admitted but was only 1 cm even though I had staedy contractions. They made me walk for an hour , no change in cervix still, so they sent me home. It was Sunday at 7am. I layed back on couch, contractions got worse to the point I was nauseated. I held out for 8 more hours, and then I went back. Still not cervical change but the nurse assured me I was contracting heavily. I knew that she didn't have to tell me. I was now only 2 cm, and she thought it would be a good idea to get the Dr. to break my water. Then there would be no turning back. Only problem is there was no Anestesiologist on the grounds because it was Sunday!!! If I went into active labor before Monday morning, I wouldn't be able to get an epidural. I though long and hard between the pain , hunger and sleepiness. Could I take this pain or even more without an Epi? I was tired and wanted it over with so with the nurses reassurance that with proper breathing and such I could do it, the Dr broke my water and it was 8:45pm Sunday night. My boyfriend had finally made it as well. I have never felt so much pain.. I got all the IV drugs they could give but that was no help...finally something told me to dance.. yes dance, almost like a belly dancer giration while I was laying down. I would make circle motoins with my hips. The nurse in all her years said she had never seen a woman dance the pain away. It worked so well it pushed the baby further down. My baby boy was born 3:44 am Monday morning..sunny side up!!

I was in labor For about 52 hours. I went in early afternoon on a saturday and didnt have the baby til late monday night. I had back labor. I stayed at 1 centimeter for a long time. The hospital sent me home. I went back cause I was in too much pain.My contractions were far apart. They had to hook me up to an iv with a fluid to get my contractions to come closer. My doctor had to break my water that way I could be admitted into the hospital and to make things go faster. When I started pushing the babies head was tilted to the side so she wasnt coming down. The doctor didnt know that though.I pushed for an hour and a half. I ended up having a C- section. I had a girl. She was born two days before my due date.

I was watching CSI and my water bvroke, not alot, be I could tell (mom of 3 at this point), because I had already been to the hospital that day, I didn't tell my husband until 2 in the morning, then didn't want to wait for the taxi so I started walking up hill to the hospital (1/4 mile), making my husband sick with worry, got about 200 feet when I soaked everything, luckily there was a cab coming down the street, the guys in the cab jumped out and let us take it..the dirver let us out on the wrong side of the hspital and a security guard could see I shouldn't be walking so he unlocked the main doors and I walked to the elevators..anyway, while I was in labor, my husband had an appointment to make sure this didn't happen again..the appointment was made a month before and we didn't want him to miss it..so he went, came back sore and then had to go put a deposit down on our new apt., so we could move in the following work day..he came rushing in just as the baby was crowning..funny to look back on, but not as well planned as we thought..

I went into labor while driving home from work. I went to the hospital about four hours later. Ia ctually took a nice leisurely bath and shaved all the necessary areas. I was at the hospital for another four hours and they sent me home because it was going so slow. By the time I got home, I was contracting so hard I had to go right back. I ended up with 23 hours total labor and delivered my son by emergency C-section. He was in distress and swallowed his meconium. It was very scary but he was fine. Oh, I forgot the pushing part. I pushed for almost two hours before my doc decided to do the C-section. They tried the vaccuum and forceps but he wouldn't fit.

My water broke at home-which was terrible because when I got to the hospital, they told me I couldn't move at all because they had to start pitocin on me right away. So I spent 15 hours just laying there with no water or food. Also, I didn't get to have an epidural because the anasthesiologist was "busy" with an emergency. So it was not the best scenario, but I got a beautiful girl out of it so I'm happy.

I was overdue by 2 wks. w/both of my children. The first pregnancy, I went into the hospital to be induced: went in on a Wed. and they started inducing me that p.m. Let me sleep, and started it up again the next day. Still didn't dilate enough (oh, they did break my water). The final day, Fri., I had a c-section. My son was nearly 13 lbs.!!

Second time around they just scheduled me for a c-section without trying to induce me. Good thing, too, because my daughter was over 11 lbs. And no, I didn't have gestational diabetes.

I was at a friend's house with my husband. Dinner was offered, but I wasn't interested (very wierd for me). I was feeling badly, so we headed to his parents house because it was close. Took my temp and found out I had a fever. He very scared and nervous drove me to the hospital. They hooked me up and found my contractions at 2-3 minutes apart, but I couldn't feel them. They decided after 30 minutes or so to push pitosin, break my water, and get the baby out. She was born within 6 hours of being admitted. She had her first bowel movement in the womb, so both of us were sick. She ended up needed lots of monitors and an oxygen hood. It was so scary to see my precious baby girl hooked up like that. It took about a day before she could come out of the hood long enough to nurse. All my other labor stories were cake compared to me first. I was so very scared for her. And now she's a healthy, active, vibrant 8 year old.

My g/f can prolly relate to your story. With all three of our children, we had sex the night before she went into labor for all three of our kids. So, me and her are both believers that there has got to be something in a man's sperm that triggers labor.
