I think you are right to be worried, there is a difference between a child being curious about something and actually carrying out collection and use of items of this nature, and using them in this nature.

This to me does sound like something you need to address with your family and with him directly; I also think talking to a doctor may be in order because this is highly unusual behaviour even if he insists this is just curiosity I would say there are some underlying issues here.

In younger children this sort of behaviour is very common in sexual abuse victims; the behaviour of using the tampons, the storing of underwear and personal items is suspect as well. It may not that he has been sexually abused but I would say these are signs of some issues either with sex or specifically about women.

I talk here as someone who was sexually abused in childhood, I will admit my behaviour was not quite so disturbing on this level, however when looking at behaviour of children relating to sex you have to bare in mind you are looking at a different ball-game. I cannot say for sure the significance of his age, something like this I would expect to see more in younger children, I don't mean to worry you but sexual abuse or not this is not just normal curiosity you are looking at here, there is a reason for this behaviour that needs addressing as soon as posible.

When I was young (11 I think) I was staying over my friend's house, and my brother's friend was staying over our house (both 2 years younger). My parents apparently found my brother and his friend trying on my clothes, which terrified me, but I find it humourous too!

Believe me, it's just experimentation. He's curious and perhaps he hasn't had sexual education and these kind of talks from your mother/teachers? Why not take the chance and ask him why he was doing this, and if you feel comfortable with it, give him some talks about sex, contraception, menstruation, etc. It'll do him good in the long term.

If you don't think he's being curious and he's had problems with his sexuality before, or you think he may currently be going through something like that, just tell him that it's okay and you're there to support it if he needs it. At such a young age sexuality crisis is a hard thing to confront.
Good luck. :)

Well, I have nine sisters and three brothers. Once i found one of my little brothers playing around with my feminine stuff. I think kids that age are just really curious. Do you know for sure that tampon was used or was it just out of the applicator?

exactly how were the tampons used? he may be a cross dresser, but with the world so messed up, this is nothing and you should continue to love him.

I'm guessing he was curious and was experimenting privately. I suggest you keep it to yourself, but let him know you are there for him if he ever needs to talk.

What?
Used by him?
How?
Oh, wait...don't tell me.

Best address this, um, 'problem' with your folks.
Something isn't kosher here, and it seems to be your brother.
