The planet Earth is the only planet known that can support life as we know it.

The planet has shown many times in the past that there is a limit to what it can produce and if the human population exceeds what the area can provide there will be direr consequences.

On abortion some will say that this is killing the unborn child even if this unborn 'child' is no more than an unrecognizable clump of cells so small that literally one or two might be able to be placed on the head of a pin.

War is just 1 of many proofs of over population. Certainly war must be more objectionable than killing a group of cells that could die before birth [ by a miscarage ] but the vocal religious do not 'seem' to object to wars. In the past wars cleared out neighboring populations for the invading population. Is this acceptable to the religious people.

Earth is only so big & it is not getting any bigger. If there are more people then there are more competing for the limited resouces.

I'd continue but (3)

Theists prefer population control via witch burning, holy wars, the crusades, slavery, etc.

They like to let something grow up before they kill it. That way it can experience pain and fear.

I dont think the majority are against birth controll as a whole. We are against (most of us) a) killing a baby as a form of birth controll and b)The government saying "you can only have 2 children"

I dont believe the world is overly poulated yet, just that people are clumped into certain areas. There is PLEANTY of land in this country alone that you can travel great distances without seeing another person. And it's unused land too, not like somebodies farmland or something. And it's a shame that people think babies are a "fleshy mass" that cant be defined as life. Did you know that a REGULAR heart beat is detected on an unborn baby at/before 6 weeks? I lost my only baby when my girlfriend was only 9 weeks along and the baby was identified as female. Women usually dont even know they're pregnant a 6 weeks. By the time most women find out they're pregnant, the baby already has a steady heartbeat and the sex has been determined.

You're certainly right. Many small-scale cultures, past and present, also have mechanisms from keeping a balance between natural resources and people. Exposure, menstrual cycle taboos, post-birth taboos, and other types of birth control were implemented to control population even methods as extreme as infanticide. Since many women who get abortions are young, poor, and simply cannot survive with a child, or even afford the health care benefits to afford the child...then why should she keep it and put a strain on the rest of society?

Humanity has not even begun full exploration of 2/3's of the earth surface and natural resources and you try to convince me that our planet is at maximum?!

Humanity has not even begun full exploration of space and its natural resource!

Chicken Little complex eh? You need to remove that Democratic party line front your thoughts! Democrats are the party of death. They want everyone to be under their control, from conception until they tell you that your life is no longer useful.

Pathetic.

When you argue with your parents or siblings or friends...that is where WAR originates. It does not matter how many there are, arguing occurs. Deal with it.

I'd continue but geez the world, its people, and the universe awaits greater exploration. Hey but you stay under your rock, and fret.

Where do you live?????...Most countries are concerned about population growing. And what is that about "vocal religious?"...Do you mean "local"?...that would explain everything in your discourse. You are living in a country where free speech is not allowed... I am pro-anticonceptives, not pro-abortion, that is not something I support. But there are many resources now to prevent a not wanted pregnancy. People need more education about sexual themes. So...do not try to convince "vocal" religious to change their minds. Instead, try to spread your words claiming more sexual education among people, mainly teenagers.

They figure that since none of what they are selling makes sense to rational people, they only way they can grow is to encourage the breeding of more NON-rational people. Proactive evolution of species Homo Moronicus.

Why not instead teach kids until waiting until you get married to have kids.
I must be a fundamentalist Christian to talk of such crazy things.
