I'm afraid to fall in love again?

Some people are afraid
of water, but they still take
a bath every day.

Just get a guy for a friend.
Then another, then another.

It is like wading into the lake.
Pretty soon you will be
over the hurt and enjoying
life again.

Tell yourself that not all guys are like your first love. He may be your first love, but if you continue being scared of falling in love again, you may not be able to find someone to replace the emptiness that's in your heart. Dont be scared, because being in love is beautiful and you know it. Love is sour and sweet. There's up and downs but you're not alone, everyone goes through this time to time :) And anyways if something goes wrong, just continue living your life and move on :) I might make it sound easy but you know it isnt.. Dont be afraid and face your fears! I'm supporting you! :D

I understand where you are coming from, but the truth is we all have been there a time or two. Everything in life is a learning exsperience and yes you can learn from this past hurt. It will help you to see not only in yourself but in someone else what it is you exactly want out of such a relationship. Being afraid is okay but do not let it stop you from finding love..... it's what life is about after all.

You need to set boundaries so that you only expose yourself a little at a time. As someone is more trustworthy and proves their friendship to you, you lower a couple walls. You don't jump in after a month of dating and profess love and let your world revolve around someone else.

Someone needs to be a part of your otherwise happy life. You need to have other friends. You need to have activities that don't involve your s/o. You need time with family. You need your school or work time. A b/f is just part of this world you must build. If he ends up going away, yes it hurts, but look at everything else you still have: cooking, swimming, reading, writing letters, laying in the sun.

I'm in the same boat hun....but when you feel as though you can trust this person with you're fragile heart you know that he is the one. I don't think he will hurt you! let your walls down and enjoy the love!

It might take a long time, but it will happen. Be patient.

Maybe the next time will be better because you have learned about yourself and others from prior relationships.

Don't worry, if you're afraid, then it won't happen. Take the right amount of time to get over it, start looking when you feel ready.

if u find somone else to love u can maybe get over him by loving somone else just try it i think ill get over it i had to do the same thing and i thought i the same thing u did but i acually got in a even better relationship

i know the feeling. i am experiencing the same feeling. i was with my ex for four years and found out that he cheated on me with one of our friends. i had never lied to him or cheated on him. and apparently he had been for a while. now i dont trust guys. even when i met someone i think i might like i find some reason not to trust them. its hard when youve been hurt so bad. it ruins it for someone else. it is so hard to get over. but we have to get over it eventually.
