first off pot is a harmless drug. but it can be used to help people with glaucoma which is what it's mostly perscribed for. however, pot can help with many things cramps headaches joint aches nausea fatigue and even labor pains. pot has a different effect on everyone so for one person no side effects another they could have a mild case of memory loss like they forgot what they had for dinner 4 nights ago. i have carpal tunnel in both wrists all the way up to my elbows and i get migraines daily and have an overly large optic nerve in my right eye which is glaucoma and im only 19 and i smoke pot daily no side effects so if you are thinking about trying pot for medical reasons i'd experiment first and see if you have side effects you may and then again you may not

Marijuana is medically prescribed for cancer and AIDS patients to quash the symptoms of nausea, and stimulate the appetite in these patients. The side effects are mood swings, increased risk of lung cancer (side effect of smoking, in general).

Many things, but the main ones I know about--
For patients undergoing chemotherapy, it helps to (a) reduce the nausea, and (b) increase the appetite so they can eat.
It has been shown to have positive effects for glaucoma patients.
