Well, get your favorite ingredients - good lunchmeat or thinly sliced cooked meats (chicken, turkey, meatloaf), lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc... and condiments and start with the driest ingredients against the bread...put mayo/mustard/etc... inside the sandwich to avoid everything sliding around so much. Also, a pinch of salt and pepper will make the flavors better. You might consider grilling your sandwich like an Italian panini - Get a frying pan and an aluminum-wrapped brick, put butter/oil on the outside bread, place in pan, and place the brick on top until bread is golden - then grill other side. Enjoy!

The perfect "American Sandwich" the BLT:
fry 4 strips bacon until crisp
slice vine ripened organic tomato
a leaf of lettuce
Toast 2 slices good whole wheat bread
Spread Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard on one slice, Best Foods (or Hellman's for you Right Coasters) on the other.
Assemble in this order:
Put the bacon on the mustard
Put the lettuce on the mayo
tomato in the middle.
Close sandwich, slice on the diagonal.
Serve with a dill pickle! Maybe some slaw, or potato salad. Campbell's Tomato soup is also good. Enjoy!

I don't know about perfect, but I've never had any complaints about this recipe.
Get out some Steak-Umm sandwich steaks, I've found that the best way to cook these is in my George Foreman grill. Onve they're done cut them up and put them on a large tortilla. Top it with onions, green peppers and tomato slices. Add in your favorite cheese. Roll it up.
Put it on a cookie sheet in your oven for about 10 minutes on 350 or until it gets brown enough for you.

I like thin sliced corn beef or turkey heated in a pan with swiss or chedder melted on top....I like it served on a kaiser roll with cole slaw and thousand island dressing. Its kind of like a ruben and its kind of not a ruben. Either way its yummy.
