If there is nothing in it worth stealing, then leave it open, just to save you the cost of a lock. This used to happen to a friend of mine more regular than it has happened to you, and in the end she put a polite notice on the car window stating that the car was open, and minimum damage would be appreciated! It never got touched again. Go Figure!!!!!!!!!!

Since they found your purse the first time, they may have been going for the odds that they'd find it the second time.
Leave the glove compartment open to show there's nothing there. If you do decide to leave the doors unlocked, put a Club on the steering wheel so they won't be tempted to steal the whole car.

Firstly I'm so sorry that has happened to you twice , you're right they are total scum with no respect for peoples property. All you can really do is get a better alarm fitted or put a camera outside of the house to view the car and at least if that doesn't work at least you will have something on tape to give to the police., but I'm pretty sure it would put them off. You can buy the cameras pretty cheap as well and they are easy and well worth setting up. Good luck and I hope you have no more problems with your car.

i know the best thing would be to wire it up to the mains, but U really cant do that, as if someone breaks into Ur car and gets hurt, they can sue U, its a crazy world but true, don't whatever U do leave it unlocked, as U'll probably have a tramp living inti in the morning, or some drunk person peeing in it, or the opportunist who will try to steal it just cos its open.
from the sound of it someone does not like U,but try parking it in a well lite area, or under a security camera.
if someone really wants to get in Ur car there no way to stop them, but an alarm may scare them off quicker,so less damage to Ur car. U can get those fake alarm stickers, marry that up with a flashing led, and they may think twice.
a car thief will always go for the easiest car to get into, the one with no alarm etc

1) When you leave your car parked somewhere, make sure the glove compartment is empty and leave it open so the scum bags can clearly see there is nothing in there.
2) Get a car alarm. The best money can buy is Clifford, and even the sticker alone will put most scum bag theives off! - You can even buy Clifford alarm stickers from Ebay: http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=clifford+sticker

The scum are not interested in taking the car , so why not remove all valuables & put a good steering wheel lock on & leave it unlocked.........at least that way you dont keep gettin the doors/locks damaged........ trouble is tho it might void any insurance claim if it did get stolen. I used to leave my van unlocked when completely empty cos the same thing happened to me........wouldn't you just like to catch the b*stards........pass me my baseball bat someone !

dont leave anything in your car idiots like this will damage a car for no reason anyway. short of keeping an eye on your car or wiring the door handles with 100.000 volts i dont know what you can do. my heart goes out to you cos we have the same problems round here if only people had respect for other peoples property

used to have a device called a barrier deadlock fitted to my last car, it used to lock the car into reverse. Doesnt matter what they did to it the car was going nowhere. All you could see of it inside the car was a small cylinder that used to push in when the car was put in reverse, the rest of the workings were welded to the gear rods under car.
Cost around 150 fitted.
