Well for all of those who dont understand that not everyone can afford a new matress...just dont respond if you cannot help.

You need to vaccum the matress. There is millions of dust mites and other germs embedded deep beneath the surface. then if there is any spotts soak a towel in 50/50 peroxide and water and scrubb it you will be fine.

Dont use bleach your matress will stink.

Enjoy your new bed

Sure can. And may I recommend that you do.

Just take a vacuum and go over with good detail. then you have choices, just a little clean or a deep clean.

personally, deep. if you can go a couple days without using it then take some diluted Clorox bleach cleaner on a sponge or clean old towel that you can rip into small pieces. Wipe down the surface and push into the fabric just enough to slightly damp. go over a couple times with clean solution. Not too much because you don't want a bubble bed. HA!

after this drys, then vacuum again.

if you don't like bleach, carpet spot cleaners like Resolve do a nice job but don't sanitize. Lysol spray is also a quick germ killer, but not a deep clean. Now if you have a wet vac then do the above and finish with the wet vac while still wet and suck out the moisture. You will be able to use the mattress sooner.

Buy a mattress protector that is water-proof. This will keep any unwanted buggies (if there are any) in the mattress and not on you.

Every time I change my sheets I spray some Lysol on the mattress pad and let it air for the rest of the day. Making the bed right before i go to bed. Nothing quite like a nice fresh bed to slip into.

ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hire a steam cleaning company to do it OR rent a steam cleaner from a hardware store or supermarket

Ugh.
You never should have bought it in the first place, it's unsanitary...or worse, it might be infested with bed bugs which really suck. There is no way to get rid of bed bugs besides tossing the bed away.

I think you should just try to return it, resell it, or toss it.

I've used steam cleaning to control dust mites. I'm sure it will work for everything else.

You need to vaccum the heck out of it. There are most likely millions of dust mites and other germs embedded deep beneath the surface. YUCKO!
