There are a number of ways to get college paid for. If you good in sports or academics there are scholarships. You can also do a yahoo or goggle search for scholarships, you will find scholarships for just about anything. Talk to the Financial Aid office at the school and they can tell you about grants you may be eligible for. There is the military that has the GI bill to help pay for school. There are also loans that do not incur interest and do not have to paid until 6 months after you finish school. Depending on your major some programs offer a thing where if you agree to work for a certain company for a few years when you get out of school, they will pay back all your loans. Good Luck to you

Yes, you could be a good student, but if you didn't have high enough scores to qualify for a scholarship, you could always apply for financial aid through the school. First you would have to fill out the fafsa. ( http://www.fafsa.ed.gov ). Then go through your school's financial aid website to do the rest. What you'll probably quailfy for is a loan that does not have to be paid back until six months after you stop going to school or you graduate.

Hopefully you did well enough in highschool to receive many scholarships. i get $1200 every semester from left over scholarship money. Getting paid to go to school is great. If I had gone where I really wanted to go (UM) then I would probably be in debt right now

You will need to fill out a FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov. This uses you and your parent's income to determine how much your family can afford to pay for your education. Most likely you will be eligible for grants and the Subsidized Stafford Loan. The grants/loans will be in your name and you will not be penalized by your parent's credit. A grant and a Subsidized Stafford Loan will not be enough to cover all of your expenses. To get all of your school related expenses covered you will have to take out additional loans and ask for extra grants. I have listed below exactly what you NEED to do.
This is what you will NEED to do:
1) Fill out a FAFSA
2) Contact your financial aid office and get your parent to apply for the Parent Plus Loan
3) If they get turned down, you contact your financial aid office and tell them that you want an UNSUBSIDIZED Stafford LOAN
4) If you have unmet need ask for additional grants (FSEOG, your state's grant)

good grades, extracurricular activities like sports and clubs...these can help you get scholarships. Also look into what your state offers. States offer different grants and such for students in low income households or for students who are the first in their family to go to college. also check out fastweb.com...scholarship database....create a profile and then they will email you with different scholarships that you are eligible for...do it, i did and got a few.

Find a rich alumnus of the school.
Tell him/her that if he donates a large sum of money for the college, the school will award him with a phd.
If he wishes to donate, go to college and tell them that you persuaded "that" alumnus to donate large amounts of money and that they should award him with an honorary phd for his contribution.
If all goes well, the college will wish to accept you for your efforts of drawing funds to school. One point you shouldn't forget is that neither of parties should realize the nature of your attempt.
By the way this is from an experience of a friend.
Good luck.
