Really sorry to hear your situation. I dont know the area of Milton Keynes but im sure my advice will help all the same. Do you have a large supermarket close to where you live? This is gonna sound really stingy but if I was you I would check out the reduced sections throughout the store. The freezer and meat sections would be best as this is where the best reductions are as the best before date is usually a day or two away but you will freeze the stuff straight away anyway (and frozen stuff lasts around 3 months). Buy your fresh fruit and veg from the local market but dont buy it until you will be using it or else it will end up going off. Hope this helps a little :)

Try cooking big meals that dont cost loads to make, for example, Spaghetti Bolognese, Chili con Carne, Stew, Casserole etc. Also check the reduced sections (especially the meat) in the supermarket and the freeze the meat until required. Thats what I do on a regular basis and am usually plesantly surprised by the savings. You could also mention to your family that you don't have much spare cash and ask them to help!! Good luck :)

You can beat this probably by becoming a salesperson by merchandise and food at wholesale and resell for a profit! Email me and I can give you some sources... or you can simply search on line type in search bar: Genuine True Wholesale Sources!
Don't merely type in wholesale cause there are many retail companys calling themself Wholesale To the Public! Such isn't really wholesale! Judge by the prices! ... you could try www.dollardaysplus.biz email request you want to be a distributor!

Save alot, Dollar General, Big lots, and by the way, the family that is gonna come stay with you should bring plenty a food with them. They should help you out while they are there.

Get lots of pasta and fresh veg, shop own brand items are just as good as brand, if your able to cook you should be able to make quite alot and don't be scared to experiment, maybe have a look on the web for cheap recipes.

why do you have to feed them? they cannot afford to feed themselves? if they are family, then surely they know your husband is not working and you are a student, and you have kids..they should be showing up with bushels of food for you guys, helping you through til you get established, then you can help others in your family.. seems to be what we in north america have lost touch with, this looking after business. it's all mine, mine, mine these days, while we dump our kids in daycare and our folks in old folks homes, and wonder why we have to even face such a decision as the one you are contemplating. in my opinion, this shouldn't even be an issue for you. i'd call them and say, hey, bring some food,eh...you supply the bed and the housework, they feed everyone, seems fair to me.

You go to COLLEGE full time and yet write and spell this poorly? Tell those freeloading redneck relatives of yours to stay away.
BTW not married and two little ones? And a partner who's out of work? You have bigger problems than feeding your relatives.
