is there anything that I can do myself to get it out before nissan charges me my life to take it out?

if everything works but it wont eject the CD then its a problem. some local shops may charge u a small fee to get it out for u but that doesnt guarantee that the stereo will work properly after that u know. another CD might get stuck again. I suggest u throw that piece of $&^* factory Nissan stereo out and get urself a decent brand name CD player with an iPOD hookup or something.

I'm not sure, but a lot of cd players have a small hole to one side in the slot you put the cd into. Stick a straightened out paper clip in the hole to release the cd.

Check fuses,most cd players have a separate power lead that works the cd in/out motor
