If there are financial reasons that he can't buy one right now, then you may want to hold off asking. If he just doesn't have "time" to buy one then maybe you can do all the research online or at stores, pick one out and then tell him the work you did researching the laptop, show him the one you picked out, so all he has to do is pay for it.

Get a job!!!!! Seriously, your parent may be having to worry about other bills right now .. and you need to be a LOT less demanding. Get an afterschool job, and save up for the Laptop. I'm sure if you show some responsibility and willingness to save for the laptop, that your parent may be more willing to 'kick in' those last few bucks so that you can then have it available for your schooling.

yeah maybe there are financial reasons he can't get one yet. however i dont know what circumstances may be preventing him from getting you one. maybe you should just bring it up by asking him if he was still going to get you a laptop since you can type 30 wpm now. maybe he just forgot, i dont know. if you have a job, you could offer to pay a portion of the cost like maybe one third or something, or get a job if you dont have one. good luck

tell your dad that retirement is expensive and if he considers your support, you should have a good job. to get a good job you need to know about computers and hey, the reason it has to be a laptop is so you can hide your stash of illegal downloads under your bed : )
