I've tried everything and have never found anything tastier or easier than cheapo Jiffy Corn Bread mix so that is what I always reach for. Why create a mess when you can get it in a box so cheaply?

Cowboy Cornbread

4 oz. MEAN GREEN™
Your favorite cornbread mix / recipe






Drain MEAN GREEN™ and add to your favorite cornbread recipe.
Bake as directed. Serve warm with butter.

Ingredients:Crawfish cornbread
1 cup yellow corn meal
1/3 cup cooking oil
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
1 can cream style corn
3 eggs
1/2 lb. grated cheddar cheese (8 oz.)
2 or more Chopped jalapeno peppers
1 cup onion (chopped fine)
1 lb. crawfish tails (chopped) (add last)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients together, adding the crawfish tails last. Mix well and pour in a greased 9 x 12 pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown at 375 degrees.

The one I heard of is cornbread with hot peppers in it.

I've never heard of it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It might be an old recipe, so you might try searching old cookbooks. Allrecipes.com is a great site for recipes as well.
