This would be a good but not great fight. In my opinion Rosario "Chapo" would walk through and take everything Diego would have to offer. Diego isn't in the same caliber as a Rosairo or even a Camacho in his prime. The quality of fighters was so rich and deep in the 80's it's hard to imagine some of the so called "Champions" in the ring with the likes of Duran, Cuavez, Pintor, Sanchez, Nelson, Watt even the latter of that scale Hilton,Chacon, O'Grady these were all animals in a fantastic era in boxing. Corrales is tough as nails but he absorbs way too much punishment for a 15 round contest. He's always in a battle even when he should be staying out of range and using his height and reach advantage, he loves fighting in the inside and that would play right into "Chapos" game plan. Rosario would just break him down, Castillo put him down and Castillo doesn't even belong in the ring with the fighters of that era. In my opinion "Chapo" punishes him for 13 of the toughest rounds ever then stops him in 14. Dan Goosen doesn't protect his fighter by throwing in the towel.

Personally I would hands down go with Rosario. Based on the following...
If you ever saw Rosario's fight with Hector Camacho during their prime you would probably not ask this question. Corrales has heart and is a solid fighter, but excluding Mayweather (who does not possess the power of the lightweights of Rosario's era) Corrales has never faced that level of competition Rosario did and still has several losses to less than hall of fame fighters. Rosario would have either hurt him seriously or knocked him out. His punching power was superior to anyone Corrales has faced and you know how many times he has tasted the canvas.

Corrales - W 40 (KO's 33) TF 43 - W pct 93% - KO pct 77% - wins over J, Castillo, Casamayorand Manfreddy - KO'ed by F. Mayweather, Castillo and Casamayor
Titles at 130 and 135
Rosario - W 47 (KO's 41) TF 53 - W pct 87% - KO pct 77% - wins over Ramirez, H. Davis and Bramble - KO'ed by Randall, Chavez and Ramirez
Rosario fought better fighters than Corrales. I take "El Chapo", Rosario in 12 rd KO.

My man Brent!!!
Edwin "El Chapo" wins this fight easy, of course I am talking about the Early Rosario who was just dynamite when he was in his prime......
Chapo walks right through Diego, but give Diego credit, he would never stop trying.....
