Cats like to find comfy closed dark places to snooze. As long as she is not sick relax, it is just the way cats are. Unless this is an abrupt change in behavior I wouldn't worry. If it is then get her to the vet to be checked out ASAP as it is a classic sign of a sick cat.

Do you have A/C?
If its very warm in the house, she's gonna go look for the coolest place to hang-out or simply just to get away from the heat.
My cat, always disappears when I shut off the air conditioning (to save a few bucks and when its really hot we have rolling black outs.). When I wonder where mr. trouble is hiding ( my roommate nicknamed him that ) I have to look in dark places because its cooler there. The 2 places best to escape the heat in my apt. is my entry closet behind my vaccume cleaner & right under my PC desk in the corner of the room. Though depends on the day sometimes he will find another cool spot to catnap at.
Remember it is summer, and the poor thing is wearing a fur coat, she can't take off.
Cats get lethargic when its warm, if its hot they will look for a cool place to relax.

Probably nothing. My cat sleeps in my closet, as well. Sometimes I forget he is in there and hear a muffled meow in the middle of the night to let him out. Cats like to feel like they are hiding in secret places!

Its a cat and they love to hide. Find a fun box or something else new that she can hide in, maybe put something from your closet in the box to lure her in there. Otherwise get a dog they always want to be near you :)

That means your cat doesn't find her environment a secured place. do u have people constantly walking around or kids running around. If your cat is comfortable she will be the queen of your house, you will find her anywhere, your furniture, your floors, carpets...anywhere. If she prefer only one spot, then, this poor kitty need therapy or you need to evaluate the status of your house. Is there someone terrorizing her when you are away, maybe a kid or another pet. Do you take time playing with her. Cat's are more passive than dogs but there are lots of ways to play with them. Our cats used to play volleyball with a small yarn ball.

Mayber she sleeps all day and is up at night when u are sleeping? Is there a lot of noise or activity that might bother her during the day? Is there a nice quiet soft place in the closet that makes her feel comfortable? I hope she is not pregnant.

Did you just move? Did you just get the cat? Cats like feeling secure, and they can be timid. You have to spend time with your cat, pet and play. They eventually start feeling like the place is theirs!

Are you providing her with an overly-lit environment? It could be too bright for her. Try pulling down the blinds.
Also, if her environment is noisy, her hiding could be her way of showing the disatisfaction she feels.
