There are Mexican, English, Swiss, French, German, etc cheeses but I've never heard of an Asian cheese or African cheese.
Do you know any?

no, there is more toward the Himalayas, but I know that's not what you mean, the only Chinese food I can think of, is crab Rangoon's, and I'm sure they are made differently in china, and the only African food I can think of, cheese corn bread, is from the white dutch people not the original people

The answer is yes. Paneer is Indian cheese, similar in taste to cottage cheese. It is smoother and tastier and is used in Indian recipes such as Palak Paneer, Mattar Paneer etc. No rennet in it either.
