Spaghetti is a great idea. Garlic is not a required ingredient. I recommend a homemade sauce rather than the bottled stuff. Otherwise it's perfect. Simple, great taste, and what could be more romantic than italian food?

Good luck with the cooking :)

Grilled chicken! It is the easiest thing to cook. Most people have a George Foreman Grill or just a grill. If you don't than just wrap the chicken in aluminum foil with lemon pepper seasoning and put in the oven. At least you are making an effort. Good luck!

Penne - add pesto and grilled chicken and make a salad. Serve with some great crusty bread and some wine. Light some candles, put on some soothing music... should be very romantic.

Romance is all in the ambiance: romantic music, soft lighting and candles will make any dinner romantic. Pasta is the easiest to make.......if you are old enough, a nice red wine with it is the way to go.

Now is probably not the best time for a cooking lesson. Try Google for some easy recipes.

A beef stoganof is pretty easy, and it tastes great. Maybe marinate some chicken and grill it, some veggies, ice cream for desert. Keep it simple and tasty.
