LOL...I'm answering this as someone who's recently had a very "challenging" experience with a man recently. The answer is an unequivocal yes! Men love it when women present a challenge to them! It's an absolute turn-on. I suppose it's hunter's instinct in them; that desire they have to be conquerors. Since it doesn't exist in an entirely predatory sense anymore, they exercise it in the modern world by becoming corporate sharks and attempting exert their alpha male dominance on women. Nine times out of ten, a woman who shows the same kind of aggressiveness will turn a man off, because they no longer feel in control. And saying no to one of these men will only spur them on further, because they cannot possibly fathom that it is not each and every female's burning desire to sleep with them.

Haven't you ever tried it? The flirting stage is the best! Everything leading up to that first kiss...Men like it for the same reasons women like it, flirting makes you feel attractive and when you're doing the chasing and you're not too sure whether the feeling's mutual but you have some sort of vibe that it is...well...when you finally catch the person you like that makes it all worth it...it builds up the anticipation and makes everything even more exciting. sets your senses tingling. I love it!!! Makes you feel like you can do anything you want and get whoever you want. no ego and esteem-boost like succeeding in the challenge of attracting somebody to you to the level where their lips ache for yours.

It's in their nature. It's like every day they need to know how much of a "macho man" they are. I could say yes it's a challenge or even more, insecurity. But as I said before, it's their nature and no one can change it.

I don't think it the "challenge" either. Maybe they want to get to know each other for what ever reason.

Everyone likes to win. Getting a girl you were after is sort of like winning. Not beating anyone, but winning, in the same way that you win at tetris or at solitaire. It's a feeling of accomplishment.
