My wife is turning 40 this year and I would love to get her something really special. She isn't into going to the spa and doesn't wear a lot of jewelery. Just her wedding band and a necklace and watch. I don't want to get a gift certificate either! I want to get her something that she will love and remember forever. Something uncommon or really special. Up to $1000.00 would be great. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you so much!!!!

I love you!!! It's SO nice to actually see a guy who cares!!! I love my hubby to death, but even after years together he doesn't even know what month my birthday is in. I would say take her on a vacation -- a cruise or long weekend away!!! It'll be very memorable and that's way more special than something she'll stick in a drawer and forget about. Good luck to you and your wife!!

Here's an idea: Send her some beautiful pink and white carnation flowers to her job with a special card. Take this day and make it special for her have her a nice dinner cooked for the two of you with some wine(if she drinks) under candlelights. or you can take her out at a nice restuarant she never been too, suprise her at the restuarant with a Happy Birthday song from the employees. But fix up the bedroom before you go with rose petals on the bed and have candlelight. Go and buy her a beautiful ring even though she doesn't like to much jewelry one more ring will not hurt the hand. (2) If not to late plan a vacation/cruise

Are you my hubby??? LOL I'm turning 40 in a couple of months, and we're planning a fun trip, just the 2 of us....NO KIDS!!! If you want something tangible for her, what about a portrait of you, or of the kids--assuming you have kids? I'm not big into jewelry either, but you might want to reconsider the jewelry idea, maybe some diamond stud earrings that she can wear and know they're from you.

Take her somewhere special for a few days... or maybe some simple diamond earrings if she wears them (diamond studs, you know...), or get her a three-stone ring (past, present, and future ring). She sounds like me, and I'd like any of those things. Good Luck!

Throw an elegant and small surprise party for her at a favorite restaurant, and have flowers waiting there for her.
Then take her to a B&B for a weekend.

Cook for her (you can cook, can't you?)...candlelight dinner for two...flowers as a centerpiece...soft music...talk with her (not TO her) during dinner (no idle chit-chat, either)...clean up afterwards...a romantic movie (yeah, a chick flick) at home...

You don't have to spend money to show someone you love how much they mean to you. But it only works if you mean it.

Try to give to her as much private time as possible and spend time with her the way you were together after just being married.

take her to where you had your first date with her. Pack a nice picnic lunch, and have champange. Then take her home and let her take the rest of the day/night off and you wait on her hand and foot.

I agree, take her on a very romantic lil vacation, treat her like your queen. And show her how much you love and appreciate her.
