Dont worry i wont push her, daddy sometimes gets really excited when she recognizes more words and reads them. But i make sure to tell him to back off when shes getting frustrated.
Making it fun will keep her interested not stressing her out. Thanks fo the input guys!

She isnt memorizing but rather spelling words
when she looks at them and sound them out. Sometimes she recognizes the shape of that word and says it.
She can also write a couple letters as well.

No, this is not typical.....she is very early. Don't push, but if she is interested then work with her on it.
Many kids don't learn to read or write until they are in Kindergarten. Some don't even know their letters yet upon entering KG.
My oldest was reading books by the time he was 4 years old. He read chapter books by the time he started KG.
My middle child is almost 5.5 years and just started KG and she is just beginning to read a word or two here and there.
My youngest is 3.5 years old and is starting to learn to read.
Be warned that she is probably going to be BORED when she starts school if she keeps up at this rate, unless you choose to homeschool.

Most 2 year olds are working very hard on their large motor skills and are more interested in climbing, jumping, running, catching balls and other active things. If she is very interested in books, paper, and writing tools, that is perfectly fine as well. I would forget about the teaching part for now and let her explore on her own how to make marks on a paper with a variety of marking things like pens, pencils, crayons, and markers. Finger paints and play-doh are great for developing those fine motor skills required for writing. Because her physical body is not mature enough, she may develop improper habits with writing that will cause her problems when beginning school. The best thing to be doing now is reading a lot to her. Some times it seems as though a toddler can read, especially a favorite story, because they have memorized it. It does happen, but it is rare for a 2 year old to truly be able to read and most just don't have the physically developed fine motor skills to be able to write well. It varies, but it is pretty common for children in that 4-6 age group to be ready for reading and writing. Those are skills that take years to develop and perfect and children work on them throughout elementary school. If your daughter is interested and motivated enough, she may become quite proficient at reading and writing early, but may lag behind in developing the skills needed to run, jump, throw and catch a ball, and climb. Encouraging her is excellent, but don't focus just on reading and writing. There is a lot to learn and practice when you are 2.

My children were also well aware of the alphabet and numbers at that age. They entered preschool with a basic understanding of algebra and of course reading and writing simple sentences. It's all in what the parents teach them, children are sponges at that age. I never drilled anything into my children's head, it was all a game, a numbers, letters, and colors games. Learning can be fun.

Children are usually ready to start reading at age 3 or 4, but girls generally are able to start sooner than boys. It sounds like you have a very intelligent young daughter. Please continue encouraging her, and support her by providing a plethora of reading material of whatever she is interested in as she develops over the rest of her childhood.

I already knew how to read when I was around 4, so, I don't see the problem. Kids can learn to read since they're just 1 year old, amazing eh?
But don't push her, OK? Let her go to her own rhythm and she will enjoy it: otherwise she will be so stressed when she starts school. DON'T be like those parents who want their kids to be "little genius"'

Your daughter must be from the X-men. U'd talk to the director of the movie for including your daughter in the next sequel. You could also talk to the director of The Lady in the Water, your daughter is going to be in Hollywood soon.
