Go get tested if you are unsure and take a friend for support.

I think you are asking if you could have been infected with the HIV virus 9 years ago when you had sex - correct? If so, the answer is yes. You could have been infected with the HIV virus when you had sex 9 years ago, if your partner was HIV positive. Weight loss can be a symptom of AIDS, the syndrome caused by the HIV virus. However, it can also be a symptom of a lot of different health related problems. If you are having unplanned weight loss, you need to see a doctor. Make sure you tell her/him that you may have been exposed to HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases.

I know what you mean. You have unprotected sex many years ago your pretty sure it was safe but you now always wonder. Unfortunately HIV can lay dormant in the body for 20 years. The best thing to do is go have an annoymous test either at the Free clinic or through a service (check the internet). After the test learn how to protect yourself and what is safe and what isnt. Trust me you will feel a whole lot better once you know for sure (Been there done that).

Many conditions can cause unexpected weight loss. For me it was Diabetes.

Some people experience flu-like symptoms a few days or weeks after infection. These may include fever, a rash, swollen glands, a sore throat, mouth or throat ulcers and aching muscles or joints. These symptoms are sometimes called sero-conversion illness and usually last for about one to two weeks. At least half of newly infected people are thought to experience some of these symptoms, but many people infected with HIV have no symptoms at all or mistake them for flu or other common illnesses. If you think there is/was the slightest chance of infection, you should have a test, or speak to your doctor who could tell you if you have any reason to worry. It will put your mind at rest. Good luck, hope all turns out well.

If you have any concerns regarding HIV you need to talk it over with your doctor. No one here can give you a diagnosis...now, where have you been that it's taken you 9 years since the last time you had sex? Amazing!
Anyway, good luck to you!!

If you think you have hiv, why dont you just go to the doc and find out? Youll feel better knowing either way. If you dont have any of the symptoms, I wouldnt worry about it. Good Luck.

Get yourself checked for HIV, if this point is troubling you so seriously. The decision is entirely yours, and I disclaim responsibility for any kind of inadvertent, unforeseen, deliberate or any other kind of loss that might possibly occur.

I would say go to a clinic and take a test, that's the only way to be sure. I pray you don't have it.
