he didnt give me a ring yet and wont let me tell anyone until i have the ring. what should i do? im having a hard time waiting to tell

lol @ the guy who said to tell your boyfriend to buy you an onion ring...anyways the same way you cant wait to tell all he couldn't wait to tell you until he got the money right to get the ring.....so he told you before he actually got it even though he might have spoiled the surprise maybe one of these days when you least expect he'll surprise you with a nice big rock that he's been saving so much for...

I guess it depends on the rest of your relationship. Has he done this type of thing before? If so, then ask him how long it will take him to get a ring, then hold him accountable, and tell him that you will start telling people after the date you set. If he is really trying and just can't buy one right now, then give him a chance to save up and get one. Maybe right now you both could go to Walmart and get a cheap ten dollar ring and make it special until he can afford one.

The ring isnt that important. My fiance emailed me a picture of a ring and asked me to marry him while he was at work..lol.. and I said yes anyway. 6-8 weeks later I had that exact ring on my finger. Maybe he is still searching for the perfect ring for you and wants you to have one before you tell everyone. Maybe he was afraid you would say no and didnt buy one for that reason and is working on it. Just talk to him.

Just hang in there until he gets the ring! He doesn't want anyone to think he's not a good provider before he gets married. Has he given you any idea of how long it will be before he's can get you this ring?

Why didn't he give you a ring. The ring itself isn't that important, as far as the size and the worth, as much as it is a symbol of your love for each other. And why doesn't he want you to tell? Shouldn't he be just as excited?

Talk is cheap. A diamond is not. If there is no ring then there is no proposal, obviusly he doens't want you to tell because people may think that he is just a cheap b@stard,
Tell him: Hun, this is the design of ring that I want (picture on hand) I want to tell everybody the good news no later than (pick a date).
That would do it.

How much time has gone by? Rings are material anyway, love should prevail. Give him another week and then give him a deadline. If he does not follow through, then move on. Commitment starts now and if he can't do it now, it will only get worse. Good luck

Wait until it becomes official (i.e. you get the ring) before you say you're engaged. But go ahead and tell your friends whats happening, you need to be able to vent!
