This will be my first pot roast... what should I make as a side dish? potatoes are in the cooker so I cant do that or rice... any suggestions?

You could have a big green salad. Or you could boil some carrots that are cut up into rounds in boiling water, take them out, saute them in butter with some salt, pepper and thyme. Or saute some mushrooms and onions in olive oil and butter, add some thyme and mint, finish with some balsamic vinegar. Or just use any vegetable that you usually cook. Happy cooking!

First, u should add carrots, celery & onion to the pot roast. U could have a tossed salad. Also, some steamed green beans. Maybe some egg noodles. U could make a sauce with the broth of th pot roast & some corn starch. directions for that on the corn starch box. U could serve the sauce over the egg noodles.

A salad is the best way to go and through some carrots and onions in withe roast to give it some more flava

I always have carrots & onions cooking with pot roast and potatoes. I throw in a handful of frozen peas toward to end to add color. Enjoy---and good for you for cooking! It is becoming a lost art........

how about some carrots in the slow cooker too? those come out pretty good.

if no room, try some green beans as a side.

i would add carrots in with my roast and potatoes and a clove or two of garlic then serve with a nice side salad!

Saute greenbeans with garlic and butter
Steam some baby carrots with a little honey, water and butter
A crisp salad
