Because they DO NOT understand that what they do is wrong. They believe that the victim asked for it and enjoyed it, etc..... In their mind they have done nothing wrong and do not understand the concept of all the damage that they cause in other peoples lives. Ultimately they are self centred and live to satisfy their own needs.

Have you ever noticed that any high profile sex offender that has their name all over the media, always has a long history of abuse? A lot of the time it's traced all the way back to their childhood when they committed their first offense. They do these horrible crimes, but they either get away with it, or nothing more then a slap on the hand. That is until they do the "Big Crime" that finally opens the eyes of the law. These offenders have been getting away with this stuff for so long, that they have the attitude that nobody can touch them and they'll once again get off. They're evil and they have conscious. People are under the impression that just because someone is a sex offender, that doesn't make them a killer. When you are raping and molesting people, the time will come that someone will threaten you that they're going to turn you in. A desperate person will do whatever they have to do to make sure that doesn't happen, therefor their sex victim has just become their murder victim. These high profile child killers usually have only killed one child, but they have a very long record of sex crimes.
We shouldn't allow these perverts to become so arrogant. Our laws need to be harder on these people. We need to put them away and stop giving them chance after chance, because then we end up with dead victims.

Although some are genuinely arrogant for the majority it's a front. Sex ofenders are often inadequate human beings, misfits and non conformists. If their personality displays dislikeable or abnormal traits they have probably had to find ways of dealing with rejection and isolation whilst developing as a human being. Arrogance can be a form of protection, confidence can deflect potential attacks from others. It's a pity they cannot simply realise what is acceptable behaviour in society and what is not and behave accordingly but human nature is a force to be reckoned with. We can only try to prevent them offending or punish those that do.

Sex offenders usually feel they are above the law because they can commit their crimes and not be caught. Less than 20% of all rapes are reported, less than 15% of all sexual abuse is reported. This leads the offenders to believe that they are untouchable. Also sexual crimes are almost always about control and power, not about sex.

because they believe that they didn't do anything wrong, and if they believe they didn't do anything wrong then they wont be convicted of their crime. They believe that they were "tricked" into doing what they did by the victim, and that they are actually the victim. One of my neighbor kids was being groomed for YEARS while she was growing up by a close family friend who is now pending sex abuse charges (luckily it was only minor touching and a kiss but enough to get manditory sentencing charges) His deffense is that she came on to him and he did nothing wrong. This from a girl that didnt even know at the age of 14 what an erection was...
They think they wont be caught or convicted...hence arrogance

Because, their brains are not wired correctly. Get it? They're messed up.
I have a registered sex offender living right next door to me, and I have a difficult time keeping my comments to myself, each time I see him.
I think that we should build an island out of all recycled stuff, including waste. I hear L.A. has a lot of it. Anyway, we should then force all sexual offenders to live permanantly on this "pervert island". They are a cancer on society.

The attached web page is a listing of behaviors and traits of sex offender. Arrogance is not listed there.

It is such a vile crime. Many sex offenders cannot be cured. They receive such short and stupid sentences and therefore they get away with it which leads to arrogance.

No courts seem to take into account the damage they do to a person for the REST of their lives!

So the justice system is encouraging it!

sex offenders - are ill, and have most likely been abused themselves, and a lot are in denial and probably dont see the wrong in what they are doing, just see it as there preferential choice and way or life, or believe they are this way becasue of what theyve been though, and havent yet been able to take the responsibility for their actions, or cant see what they are.

Their arrogance is more of a defence mechanism. The people they see are most likely to know what that person did so they decide to be unpleasant first.
