Are you getting any lights in the front to show it's getting power? Is it plugged in? It may sound stupid, but I worked in technical departments before.....and sometimes that maybe the right answer. If it isn't then plug it in; problem solved (also check to see if surge protector or power strip is on {if you are using one}) If it is plugged in then unplug from wall. This will make it safe to open the TV (but this voids warrantee {but if the TV was under warrantee you wouldn't be asking right?}). Check cords for any exposed wire (if there is then replace cord). If not open the back of yourTV. When you open the back of the TV check the partof the cord that you could not see (small 3-4 inch section) and make sure it is not severed (if it is replace cord). Anything else is too technical to tell you how to fix (Call a TV repair man)

You DON'T go inside the TV!! There is a wire in there containing enough voltage to drop you dead with just a touch.

I wouldn't go messing around with it. Take it to a t.v. repair man. Mine got hit by lighting a few years ago. It only costed about $35 to get it fixed.
