no its not, just ignore the rubbish in the supermarkets. The bread is dire, so get a cheap breadmaker and make your own. Gluten free pasta is widely available, as are rye crispbreads and oatcakes if you can eat them. Otherwise most food is fine, and you can easily learn to eat round the few things that are awkward

I have had no problem getting wheat free foods from Boots. Most health food shops sell wheat free flour etc. and it is law in the UK to put the contents on all packets and tins of food, so all you have to do is read the list of ingredients - just remember that if "modified starch" or "thickeners" are listed, they usually contain wheat.

There are a lot of choices at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Please look for wheat free products there.

i get wonderful chocolate cake mix and bread mix from the supermarkets the bread is great for pizzas.

Sainsburys have a good selection. Asda not so good.
