Yes you can run these two together because they are not both antivirus programs.
AVG is an anti-virus program and Zone Alarm is a FireWall program.
I have used these two together for years with no problems.
Though the latest thinking is that Avast or the lastest offering of Active Shield from AOL are better free anti-virus performers.
Normally you should not run two anti-virus programs because they are likely to cause conflicts and lead to major problems.

can you yes. it is not advised first they may conflict and that can cause the computer to get stuck, at the very least running both will slow down your CPU cause they both need resources. I run avg anti virus and zone alarm firewall. at one time I would run Panda as well as avg when I was more actively repairing PCs cause Panda was actually off the CPU. Check out grc.com and securitytango.com
they may help you

You can, but not these 2. You can have one that runs in the background monitoring your system, and one that you use from the context menu on right click to scan specific files.
I recommend Avast! as your primary anti virus, it also works against some trojans and its better than AVG. I'd use Bitdefender as your backup, and add Ewido anti trojan and a firewall. for a really good security suite.

AVG is virus protection only. Zone alarm has a firewall. If you only want free protection, download AVG and use Windows firewall.
If you want to buy protection, Norton Antivirus has all the same features and more. It also includes Spyware and adware detectors.

No, you cannot run two at the same time. But you most certainly can have as many AV programs installed as you want. Just make sure only one "real time" scan is being run. If two or more scans are running simultaneously, they will see each other as a threat and try to eliminate one another. Your computer will crash. See this help article from Ask-Leo.com:
http://mailbag.ask-leo.com/_is_is_necessary_to_run_2_anti_virus_programs_at_the_same_time_009189.html
I have 3 AV programs on my computer: a free Computer Associates EZAntivirus provided by my ISP, a free product called AVG by Grisoft, and another by Trend Micro (which also has a free scan called Housecall.)
http://home2.ca.com/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayPage&Locale=en_US&id=ProductDetailsPage&SiteID=caconsum&productID=35180700&Env=BASE > ezAV
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1 > AVG
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ > free scan
Why would you want more than one AV program? No single program is 100% effective and sometimes one program will find a virus the others miss. Bottom line: if you want only one AV program on your machine or ten, it's your option, BUT RUN ONLY ONE SCAN AT A TIME!

No you cannot. But if you think you need a "second opinion" One way is to have something like AVG on your system, then once a week or so, go into Trend Micro's website and do a free virus scan. It will also hunt for any spy-ware that ad aware etc. might have missed.

AVG is an anti-virus and ZoneAlarm a firewall. Both decent free progs.
So you can run them both as you need both progs. AVG for anti-virus duties and ZoneAlarm as a firewall to stop intruders from your PC.

erm 1 is an anitivirus another is a software firewall. So it's okay for you to run them both. They are different things.
If you were to run 2 antivirus software at the same time. Sure you could ( although some antivirus softwares will not allow this & refuse to run when they detect another antivirus software already running )
Still it is not advisable as there could be conflicts.

I'd recommend AOL's Active Virus Shield. It's based on Kapersky Labs' Personal Antivirus. Kapersky are renowned for their rapid virus detection pattern updates.

i could stick to AVG 8.5 loose. as quickly as you start up including different issues, they are able to intervene with one yet another and fully screw up your gadget. AVG is mind-blowing, I had it and had no issues in anyway. the only reason that i've got not got it now could be that my new workstation got here with a outfitted in secure practices from Norton. If I ever had to replace my modern-day anti-virus, AVG could be on the actual of my checklist!!!
